They also want to know, whether she will make a cameo in the second season. Sara Snow had a key role in the Fire & Blood book where she was said to have fallen in love with and secretly married Jacaerys Velaryon.

So was Sara Snow cut from House of the Dragon Season 2? Will she appear in the show at all? Here are your answers.

Was Sara Snow removed from House of the Dragon Season 2 and why?

Sara Snow was likely cut from House of the Dragon Season 2.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sara Hess, an executive producer for House of theDragon, implied that Sara Snow was cut because the creators primarily focused on the Targaryens’ story. Hess also claimed it was because the creators didn’t “have the eyes to be really everywhere at the same time”, implying that they had a lot of content to cover and could not do more than her role.

Moreover, Cregan Stark, Sara Snow’s half-brother in the books, whom Jacaerys Velaryon meets with in the Season 2 premiere to secure his support for Rhaenyra Targaryen‘s side during the Dance of the Dragons also has a small role. In the books, Cregan and Jacaerys forge a strong relationship before the latter sleeps with Sara, which the show does not adapt. In an EW interview, co-creators Ryan Condal and Hess explained that this storyline was not adapted as they faced challenges when constructing Season 2’s story.

Will Sara Snow cameo in House of the Dragon Season 2?

It remains to be seen whether Sara Snow will cameo in any of the House of the Dragon Season 2’s final three episodes.

In George R.R. Martin’s books, Sara Snow is the illegitimate daughter of Lord Rickon Stark. According to Targaryen court fool Mushroom, Jacaerys Velaryon fell in love with Sara when he visited Winterfell to get Cregan Stark’s support for Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons.

Mushroom further reveals that Sara and Jacaerys slept together which angered Cregan, who calmed down when Sara revealed she secretly married Jacaerys.

However, Sara’s existence was disputed by several people like Archmaester Gyldayn who believed her and Jacaerys’ marriage was simply part of Mushroom’s imagination. Gyldayn claimed that Jacaerys was unlikely to break his engagement to Baela Targaryen for Sara as it was not in his nature.
